Educational attainment among women in Yemen was very low in this survey. Over half of women, 56%, and nearly one in five men, 18%, have no formal schooling. This can lead to additional barriers in professional and career advancement, and economic attainment. This topic brief presents the main findings on educational attainment from the SWMENA survey in Yemen. The analysis centers on differences between Yemeni men and women focusing on a variety of demographics and focuses on responses regarding educational attainment, aspirations, and top fields of post-secondary study for women - which includes Medicine, Religious and Islamic Studies, and Computer Science. Finally, it presents data on women working for pay, detailing their job descriptions and field of work.
